INVENOM

Vocals, Guitars, Synths, Programming, Samples: David R. Harris

WHAT IS INVENOM?
INVENOM is the story, or creation of "The Cursed One", forever tormented, exiled to eternal darkness.
INVENOM started in 1999 as my solo project by combining all of the music elements that intrigued me.
A  melting pot of  neoclassical-industrial-darkwave-dance-horror-electro
. This project combines some of the arcane arts with digital noise  .

A LITTLE HISTORY
I started reading, reciting, and playing music at the age of seven. I have aquired 8 years of music education, & I'm teaching myself music theory 101. All of my recording/editing skill are self taught.I started recording & writing my own music at 14 with a Yamaha 4 track. I lived in a small rural community called Pampa, TX.
I started an industrial project called "
Dark Suburbia", with Michael Bremereman, with  enough tracks to put together a small album. In 1995 I joined a band called "Drill Bit".
The band included Danny Schmitto on vocals/guitars, Kevin George on bass,
Matt Piersall of "
The Aleph" on drums, little me on guitar/vocals.
We sounded like most garage bands of the era, post-grunge-siamease-dreamy-kinda junk.
Drill Bit only had a couple of shows before the band split up.
Kevin and Matt joined Terryl Scott and Jimi Barker of "
The Angelus", to start "The Last Temptation Of St. Barbie".
A band that I believe rocked and reshaped Amarillo's music scene to this day.
The Barbie kids and their adventures are now only fairy tales hardly forgotten but sincerely missed.

In 1996 I started "
Projekt Abyss" with Jesse Riley and Danny Schmitto. Jesse was on synthz/programming , Danny on guitar, I was on synthz/guitar/vox. In envy of Amarillo and the Barbies, I wanted to help create our own music scene in Pampa.( what a joke)  We had "The Garage" , a small building big enought to fit 6 cars into, we got couches, lights, sound equipment, and misc.ghoulish decore.
Of course it was all in vain, this town was the pit of hell, a soul eating sucubus. We all got bored.
Danny and I drifited from the abyss with other endeavors, mine being drugs, partys, and skateboarding. I moved around states and ended back in Amarillo with the punks taking over 8th street.
Brian Deneke died in a parking lot brawl with the rising bad Moon, so i freaked out and I split back to Pampa. Jesse stuck that out with me though ,and we added Doc Welch & Joey Shipp to the line up of Projekt Abyss. Doc took Danny's place on guitar and Joey, well Joey pressed keys for us!! A few shows and 2 albums Projekt Abyss took a slow and cruel death. As it should be.

I moved to Denton, Texas in hopes to find the music scene that I tried  to create.  I searched for the gothic-darkwave-industrial scene. I didin't want to believe it but it was just as scarce and hidden away as the little insignificant town I came from. It was a town full of music, but not what I'm looking for. I didn't fit in Denton, and I'm starting to believe that I don't fit in anywhere. I gave up on trying to find people to record "dark" music with, so I tried recording other people in Denton with other genres/different people, producing indie underground releases. I've released over 300 free samplers for the Dallas area. To my actual expectations, not much of a response from anyone. I guess no one here cared for underground anything, or my medium way of reaching listeners is lame.
Using record shops, internet, entrances to venues, what else is there?
Selling out, getting signed to a jerk off record deal, playing to the suits and their needs??
DIY seems dead or a very abandoned cause, but what do I know anyways.
I think I gave up on everyone at that point and everyone gave up on me,  so I moved to Dallas and kept recording the INVENOM project. I've lost most of my friends  and new somehow I've dealt with the silence & void inside. Through suicide attempts, drug overdoses, incarcerations, and complete insaninty: I've just come to accept it all..

.
This sonic decay will remain with or without you!!
